An advanced and high performance electrode engineered for anion exchange membrane or alkaline fuel cells that are utilizing solid membranes and liquid fuels such as ammonia borane, sodium borohydride, and other chemical hydrides. This electrode is comprised of a carbon paper substrate (Molded Graphite Laminate without any PTFE treatment) and platinum ruthenium black electrocatalyst. High catalyst loading and engineered electrode layer deliver the desired performance and long operational lifetime. Use of Fumion dispersion within the electrocatalyst layer greatly improves the hydroxyl ion conductivity for the anode and cathode electrochemical reactions and hence superb reaction kinetics. The first of its kind in the fuel cell industry.
The Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL) used is an untreated carbon paper without MPL, which is 370 microns thick. No PTFE treatment on the base fabric makes this substrate ideally suited for applications using liquid reactant transferred anode or cathode that needs the diffusion medium to be wettable.
