This low-cost electrode is engineered for anion exchange membrane fuel cells. It can also be used for alkaline fuel cells or batteries with liquid electrolyte (flow-through or static). This electrode is comprised of a standard woven carbon cloth substrate and a carbon supported platinum electrocatalyst. The low electrocatalyst loading is designed for cost sensitive applications or electrochemical reactions requiring low platinum quantities. Use of Fumion dispersion within the electrocatalyst layer greatly improves the hydroxyl ion conductivity for the anode and cathode electrochemical reactions and hence superb reaction kinetics. The first of its kind in the fuel cell and battery industries.
